AAI upgrades facility in Mangalore

MANGALORE: The Airports Authority of India has upgraded the navigational facility, `Doppler Very High Frequency Omni Range', in Mangalore at a cost of Rs 1.2 crore.

A press release here on Friday said the conventional VOR equipment was replaced with ASI-DVOR-1150. The new equipment was commissioned on December 12.

This facility provides electronic path for aircraft to fly from one airport to another at different flight levels. The release claimed that new equipment is very accurate and less error-prone.
