FIIs, NRIs can buy Bharti Tele shares

MUMBAI: The Reserve Bank of India has said the holdings of foreign institutional investors, NRIs and persons of Indian origin (PIOs)in Bharti Tele Ventures Ltd have fallen below the stipulated 48.5 per cent. An RBI notice said FIIs, NRIs and PIOs could now buy its shares in the secondary market under the portfolio investment scheme, subject to existing ceilings and guidelines.
