Events Two-day meet on capital market Our Bureau
Mumbai , Dec 15 INDIAN Institute of Capital Markets (formerly UTI Institute of Capital Markets) is holding a two-day annual capital market conference on December 17 and 18 to encourage and create knowledge for advanced and quality research in financial markets. The first such conference was held in December 1997 and this is the seventh in succession. The conference focuses on encouraging policy research and empirical studies in Indian as well as international capital markets. The papers presented in the conference raises the issues in capital markets from both micro and macro perspectives. In a statement, the institute said this year the conference received 69 papers. Of them 38 papers have been selected for the presentation. It will deliberate on macro economic variables and financial markets, equity markets, institutional investors in financial markets, trading and investment strategies, derivatives and risk management, corporate governance, debt markets, mutual funds and pension funds. The statement added the institute is offering a three-month certificate course in financial engineering. This programme offers advanced training in financial markets, quantitative skills used in financial modelling, financial programming and risk management. It said the first programme has got good response with participants from the Reserve Bank of India, Nabard and other professionals attending it.
