Cadence Design sets up VLSI centre in CVR engg college

CADENCE Design Systems Inc, a global player in electronic design automation (EDA) tools space, has provided VLSI (very large system integration) design software and has helped create a VLSI centre in CVR College of Engineering in Hyderabad.

This centre will host latest EDA tools and related software for simulation, verification and layout. Cadence is also providing a ready to deploy semester long curriculum on the digital implementation floe for system on chip designs, supported by the `Train the trainer' programme in which cadence application engineers train faculty on Cadence tools.

Mr Himangshu Singh, Executive Director, India, APAC of Cadence Design Systems, in a statement said: "Through our university software programme, Cadence continues to demonstrates its commitment to enhancing the quality and number of electrical engineers in India. Our engagement with CVR further emphasises this, and it will benefit the Indian electrical design industry by enhancing the pool of VLSI engineers."
