Aid for sanitation project in Pudukottai dist.

MADURAI: The Pudukottai district has received its second instalment of a sum of Rs 95.43 lakh from the Central Government for implementation of `Total Sanitation Project' in the district.

According to official sources, the district has also received the second instalment of a sum of Rs 31 lakh from the State Government. The funds are to be utilised for construction of toilets in houses, Government schools, anganwadies and construction of sanitary complexes for women.

A sum of Rs 14.75 crore has been sanctioned by the Centre for implementing the project in the district, they added.
