LICHF meet on Dec 23 to consider GDR issue

Our Bureau

Mumbai, Dec, 16

THE board of LIC Housing Finance Ltd will meet on December 23 to consider a possible GDR issue to enlarge the company's capital base.

A senior official with the company said the decision to raise funds through a fresh issuance of equity had been already taken on November 29. "Earlier we thought that we may raise funds through a preferential issue or private placement with FIIs and private equity funds. However, our investment bankers advised us that we can consider exploring the GDR route as well, so we are taking the issue to the board for a decision," he said.

At present the company has an authorised capital of Rs 100 crore and a subscribed capital of Rs 75 crore, which will be raised to Rs 85 crore through the issuance of fresh equity.
