ICSI to elect new president

New Delhi, Dec. 24

WITH the term of the existing council of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) set to end on January 19, the institute went to polls on December 8 to elect a new team. The new president will be shortly elected from the newly inducted team. According to informed sources, "The new president of the institute will be from the western region."

Mr H.M. Choraria and Mr Amit Kumar Sen have been elected from the Eastern India Regional Constituency. Ms Preeti Malhotra, Mr Nesar Ahmad and Mr Pradeep Mittal have emerged representatives from the Northern India Regional Constituency. The Southern India Regional Constituency voted for Mr R. Ravi, Mr Hanumanta Raju Datla and Mr V. Sreedharan, while from the Western region, Mr S.D. Israni, Mr Bipin S. Acharya, Mr Mahesh Anant Athavale and Mr R. Narayanan emerged winners.
