Asian Bond Fund

This is with reference to "Managing forex reserves: Asian Bond Fund as a safety mechanism" (Business Line, December 27). The suggestion for setting up an Asian Bond Fun to bail countries of the region out of economic crises is welcome. It is clear that the IMF and the World Bank are not capable of helping countries during economic downturns. Hence, it is time that Asian countries took matters into their own hands.
