Sale of greeting cards is on decline thanks to widespread use of the Internet and cell-phone SMS facilities. In Kerala, the drop is estimated at 30 per cent. During the Christmas and New Year season alone, around one million cards are sold in the State. Cards with prices ranging from Rs 3 to 250 are in the market, but the number of takers is steadily falling.
