Education Info-Tech - Society & Development Satyam plan to upgrade rural schools in AP Our Bureau
Hyderabad , Dec. 28 BYRRAJU Foundation, a not for profit organisation set up by the family of Mr B. Ramalinga Raju, Chairman, Satyam Computers Ltd plans to make 217 primary, high school and model schools it has adopted in rural Andhra Pradesh on par with the best in the metros. Similarly, it would strive to achieve 100 per cent literacy in all the adopted villages, provide safe drinking water and sanitation and livelihood enhancement for about 10,000 rural men and women, this was stated by Mr Ramalinga Raju at the `Vikaasa Sadassu' (Community day), at Bhimavaram. Over 1,200 village volunteers of the foundation attended the event. These honorary volunteers are local village citizens motivated towards improving their village, according to Mr P.K. Madhav, Director. The Sadassu organised at the Bhimavaram Learning Centre, the training and resource centre for all the foundation's stakeholders, emphasised the need for collaborative efforts between the community and the foundation, according to a release issued here today.
