THE senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and Union Minister of State for Urban Development, Mr Bandaru Satyanarayana, on Sunday asked the people not to be carried away by political parties that sought their votes in the name of religion and region.

"Be wary of such parties and support those parties that assure development," he said.

Addressing a gathering after laying a foundation stone for a community hall at Sathyanagar near Barkatpura, the BJP leader castigated parties advocating a separate State for the Telangana region. "No denying the fact that the region is backward. But breaking away won't do any good," he said.

He also asked the people not to fall prey to financial considerations in casting their votes.
