`Karavali Utsav'

MANGALORE: The Dakshina Kannada district administration has decided to hold `Karavali Utsav' from January 22 to March 8 next year.

The Minister in-charge of the district, Mr B. Ramanatha Rai, who presided over a meeting in this regard here on Saturday, stated that the `utsav' would help promote the tourism potential of the district. Cultural programmes could be organised at various spots of tourist attraction during the celebrations, he added.

The Deputy Commissioner, Mr Aravind Srivastav, stated that efforts have been made to identify and disseminate information about tourist attractions of the district and to bring out a tourism directory of Dakshina Kannada.
