The Hindu Business Line : IA extends fare cuts in Chennai-Coimbatore sector

INDIAN Airlines (IA), which has been offering a concessional fare for night flights on Chennai-Coimbatore sector, has now extended this discounted fare for the day flights too on this sector.

Billed as the promotional offer, IA will have its one-way fare for Coimbatore to Chennai and vice-versa reduced to Rs 3,090, the same as applicable for the night flights on this sector, from Rs 3,965.

This promotional fare coming into immediate effect will, however, be on offer till January 31, only and the travel for this has to be completed on or before February 29, according to a press note from the IA's Coimbatore Area Marketing Manager, Mr G. Ramani Kumar.

Indian Airlines operates two flights on Coimbatore-Chennai sector - one by its sister concern, Alliance Air, and the other by IA Chennai-Sharjah and Sharjah-Chennai thrice a week flight.

The Alliance Air Chennai-Coimbatore-Chennai flight operates on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. The flight leaving Chennai at 1410 hrs arrives Coimbatore at 1505 hrs and the return flight leaving here at 1535 hrs and reaches Chennai at 1630 hrs.

The Chennai-Sharjah flight (operating on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays) leaving Chennai at 1500 hrs arrives in Coimbatore at 1533 hrs and the return flight from Sharjah to Chennai (on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays) arrives here at 0435 hrs and leaves for Chennai at 0530 hrs.
