NUCLEAR Power Corporation of India Ltd will be headed by Mr Shreyans Kumar Jain who took over as Chairman and Managing Director from Dr V.K. Chaturvedi in a ceremony at the NPCIL headquarters here today.

Mr Jain held the charge of senior executive director (light water reactors) prior to assuming the position of CMD. He has served NPCIL in various capacities and is completely responsible for the ahead-of-schedule construction of 2x1000 MW light water reactors being set up at Kudankulam in Tamil Nadu with the technical co-operation of the Russian Federation.

NPCIL is a public sector enterprise of the Department of Atomic energy and is responsible for generating electricity using the power of atom.
