Kolkata to host ACLM national convention

THE fourth national convention of Asian Council of Logistics Management (ACLM) will be held here on January 16 and 17.

Mr P.M. U. Menon, President of ACLM, and also the CEO of Lee & Muirhead, told Business Line on Monday that the theme of the two-day convention would be "Logistics Tomorrow - Players, Platforms and Processes" and there would be deliberation on such issues as managing capacity and optimising performance, public private partnership and the global trend in logistics process.

The Chairman of Kolkata Port Trust, Dr A.K. Chanda, the Chairman of Express Industry Council of India and also Chairman of Blue Dart, Mr T. Jani, the Managing Director of Balmer Lawrie, Mr P.K. Bishnoi, the Executive Director (Traffic) of Railway Board, Mr S.K. Chowdhury, and Executive Director of Airport Authority of India, Mr Roshan Lal, among others, would participate in the deliberation.

Mr Menon said that there would be participants from Bangladesh, Nepal and Sri Lanka also.

Meanwhile, ACLM has signed a MoU with Zee Interactive Learning Systems to share its expertise and experience in imparting education in logistics and supply chain .
