COAI files withdrawal application

NEW DELHI: The Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI) has formally filed an application to withdraw its challenge to limited mobility (WLL) and unified access service licensing that was pending before the Supreme Court. According to an official statement, the withdrawal was unanimous as applications were filed to withdraw all three appeals pending before the Apex Court in this regard.

Mr T.V. Ramachandran, Director-General, COAI, stated that the industry continues to remain committed towards the growth and development of a healthy and viable cellular mobile industry, which would enable all the operators, irrespective of technology or size, to participate energetically in the growth programmes of the Government for attaining the national tele density objectives as envisaged under NTP-99.
