Airlines AAI posts Rs 282-cr PAT in 2002-03 Our Bureau
New Delhi , Jan. 6 THE Airports Authority of India (AAI) has reported a profit after tax of Rs 282.05 crore during 2002-03, up from Rs 266.98 crore recorded during the previous year. AAI's annual report for 2002-03, which was presented to Parliament during the recently -concluded winter session, shows that the Authority reported a profit before tax of Rs 497.05 crore during the year under review, up from Rs 476.98 crore reported during the previous year. A huge portion of the Rs 2,384.49-crore revenue, which AAI notched up during 2002-03, came from route navigation facilities charges (RNFC) that accounted for Rs 684.84 crore. In addition, AAI earned Rs 242.55 crore from cargo income while passenger security fee and passenger service fee accounted for Rs 235.37 crore and Rs 150.45 crore, respectively of the revenues earned during the year. During 2002-03, the expenditure on Central Industrial Security Forces (CISF) was pegged at Rs 28.32 crore, up from Rs 18.22 crore incurred during the previous year. AAI has projected its plan outlay for 2003-04 at Rs 800 crore, which includes an allocation of Rs 501.77 crore for aerodrome works, Rs 152.87 crore for ground safety services and Rs 143 crore for aeronautical communication services.
