Hyderabad , Jan. 6

PLANS are afoot to set up a science incubator and science park, adjoining the proposed Institute of Life Sciences (ILS) in Hyderabad, according to the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Hyderabad, Dr Kota Harinarayana.

The focus of these initiatives would be to conduct research in new frontiers of sciences like nanotechnology, bio-medical engineering etc, he said while speaking at a function for signing the memorandum of understanding for setting up ILS here on Monday.

The institute could provide the right platform for industry-academia partnerships, Dr Harinarayana felt. The science incubator is expected to provide the support to ideas generated by entrepreneurs, following industry-university interactions that are to be facilitated by the varsity.
