Groundnut meet to discuss quality issues

UNDER the aegis of the Agricultural and Processed foods products Export Development Authority (APEDA), the Indian Oilseeds and Produce Exporters Association (IOPEA), Mumbai, has organised a seminar on "Groundnut exports from India - Importance and relevance of quality upgradation: An overview" on January 10, at Hotel Aishwarya Fort, Chitradurga (Karnataka).

The meet will discuss on various aspects of quality upgradation - sound pre and post harvest practices, improved processing techniques and storage facilities etc. Participants would include Government officials, scientists, exporters and brokers, clearing agents and others, Mr Kishore Tanna, Chairman of IOPEA, said in a release.

The country has been a regular exporter of groundnuts to the Far East, the West Asia and also the EU countries.
