NMPT exports 3,38,984 t of iron ore fines in current fiscal

THE Chairman in-charge of New Mangalore Port Trust, Mr G.J. Rao, has said that the port exported 3,38,984 tonnes of iron ore fines during the current financial year by conventional methods of handling.

Addressing the exporters at an interactive session here, he said that nine iron ore fine vessels were involved in this exercise. He assured them that the port is prepared to extend all facilities and cooperation to exporters to increase the volume of iron ore through New Mangalore Port.

Thanking the exporters, Mr Rao requested them to make use of the facility and export more cargo through the port.

A press release by the Traffic Manager in-charge, Mr D. Mahadevaiah, stated here on Wednesday that customers/exporters were satisfied for arranging such a meet.
