NANDAN Agro Farms (P) Ltd has entered into a joint venture with Spearhead, a Switzerland-based company, to establish a food processing unit in the proposed Rs 150-crore Horti-processing park. An MoU to facilitate this park was signed here on Thursday with the State Government.

The food processing park is planned to be developed in phases where about 20 units would be located in a 150-acre site at Zaheerabad in Medak district. Of this, the phase one would involve a total investment of about Rs 60 crore, including Rs 30 crore for basic infrastructure and Rs 20 crore for the fruit processing plant.

According to Nandan promoters, the food park would benefit over 40,000 acres of cultivation through contract farming.

CII, Malaysia construction body in tie-up: The Confederation of Indian Industry and the Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) of Malaysia have entered into a memorandum of understanding that seeks to strengthen the partnership in the construction sector. CII and CIDB would explore new business opportunities and share professional expertise and information.

CIDB, Malaysia is a statutory agency within the Government of Malaysia under the custody of the Ministry of Works, with the responsibility of development and supervision of the construction industry in Malaysia. The MoU was inked between Mr Dato Ir hamzah Hasan, Chief Executive of CIDB, and Mr Tarun Das, Director General of CII.

Canadian auto co to drive into AP: Exco Technologies Ltd, Toronto stock exchange listed Canadian company engaged in casting and extrusions for the automotive sector, has entered into an MoU with the State Government represented by the Commissioner of Industries, Mr Sameer Sharma. The Rs 30-crore project can create a tool room for manufacture of its products for the Asian region and cater to the Gulf markets.
