`Feel-good' for India is `feel-great' for voters: Advani

Our Bureau

New Delhi , Jan. 10

THE "feel-good" factor is not only supposedly sweeping the entire economy; on the poll eve, it has also become a tool of sorts for the Government to showcase its performance and achievements.

Riding on this "feel-good" wave, the Deputy Prime Minister, Mr L.K. Advani, on Saturday used his address at a plenary in the second `Pravasi Bhartiya Divas' conference to appeal to the sentiments of the Indian voter.

"If it feels good, then it is India 2003. It's not only the `feel-good' factor, you (voter) would soon experience the `feel-great' factor. I do believe that this Government has contributed a lot to the new climate that has been created. It would be our endeavour to provide good governance if you vote us again to power," Mr Advani said.

He also expressed confidence that the Prime Minister, Mr Atal Bihari Vajpayee, would get a mandate for another five years.

Mr Advani advised Indians that they should have a sense of confidence in themselves so that they can achieve their full potential.

"There are many discerning observers abroad who have more faith in India than our own countrymen. We must not get into the grip of cynicism and scepticism," Mr Advani said.
