Hyderabad , Jan. 11

THE Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC), organisers of Gitex Hyderabad, sees a growing opportunity for trade ties and networking through such events, including the possibility of Indian companies providing solutions in the Gulf countries. The flagship IT event organised by Gitex is held in several major cities across the world,

The General Manager of DWTC, Mr Abdulla Tayeb Qaseem, told Business Line "there is a heightened interest in Gitex Hyderabad as is evident from the participants in various parts of the world. For instance, in Dubai, technology companies see this event as providing a foothold into the growing Indian market with their products and services."

In recent months, many MNCs including Lloyds TSB, Siemens, Prudential, and host of others had moved jobs to India and such events that help in networking would open up more opportunities, he said.

. The three-day event, set to get under way on January 12, would coincide with the two other major events— the Nasscom summit and the Asian IT Ministers conference, generating keen interest. This year about 80 exhibitors were expected to particiapte in the Hyderabad fair, he said.
