Budget for minorities hiked in AP

HYDERABAD: The State Government has increased the annual budget of the AP State Minorities Finance Corporation to Rs 38.7 crore for upliftment of minorities and implementing various development and welfare schemes, according to Mr Moin Ahmed Hussain, Chairman of the Corporation.

About 1,194 women were provided a loan of Rs 5,000 each, totalling Rs 47.25 lakh for various micro-credit schemes. Under the `Dukan-Makan' scheme, 240 beneficiaries were identified for the construction of residence-cum-shop with a financial outlay of Rs 132 lakh, he said.
