THE Deputy Prime Minister, Mr L.K. Advani, will inaugurate the Auto Expo 2004 on January 15 here. The show, to be held from January 15-20, will showcase products of various vehicles and components manufacturers.

The expo will see new participants such as Standard Tractors, International Tractors, Lombardini, National Panasonic, Japan, Pinnacle Industries, Ralson Tyres among others, apart from Maruti, Suzuki, Hyundai and DaimlerChrysler.

It has attracted participation from over 960 exhibitors from around 20 countries, including country pavilions from China, Germany, the UK and Taiwan.

Apart from the showcasing of new vehicles, another highlight would be the launching of three new products — two-wheeler brake shoes, two and three-wheeler pistons and rings, and four-wheeler disc brake pads.

The expo will have exclusive pavilions for automobiles, auto components and spare parts, audio and electronics, alternate fuel technologies and design and technology.

A theme pavilion — "Asli Naqli" has also been planned to create awareness about the original and duplicate parts.
