Thiruvananthapuram , Jan. 12

POSITIONED as an attempt to "depict a slightly different Kerala", Moments - When you know there's a God, a coffee table book on the State with photographs by Balan M. and text by Swarup B.R., was released in the city on January 8.

Belinda Wright, the renowned wildlife photographer and Director, Wildlife Protection Society of India handed over the first copy of the book to Muduvan Krishnan, a tribal chieftain from Eravikulam in the presence of Prof K.V. Thomas, Minister of Tourism.

The 90 images and the text that runs through the book seek to give the reader a "feel of the place, the people and the kind of society Kerala is all about", said Mr Swarup.

"The book is, in a sense, a collection of Kerala moments." However, the Kerala the book presents is not what people have come to expect of the State, Mr Balan said.
