President on 2-day visit to Hyderabad

HYDERABAD: The President, Dr A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, would launch the Apollo- DRDO Joint Venture technology partnership initiative on January 19, as part of his two-day visit to Andhra Pradesh beginning on January 18.

Dr Kalam will participate in the Golden Jubilee celebrations of the Indian Journal of Ophthalmology at the L.V. Prasad Eye Institute. He will also attend the presentation of Samyuktha CC block to the Chief of Army Staff at the Electronic System Engineering Center, RCI complex. His other major engagement is the interaction with school children at the Indira Vidya Niketan High School at Laldarwaza.

The other high profile visitors to the city next week also include the Prime Minister of Mongolia and the Deputy Prime Minister of Singapore. While the Mongolian premier would be in Hyderabad visiting the eSeva Centre, Hitec City and Buddha Statue on January 19; the Singapore Deputy Premier is visiting the Satyam Computers and meeting its Chairman and Managing Director on January 17, according to official sources.
