BANGALORE: Techno Linguistic Solutions has launched DiscKeeper, a copy protection device that prevents copying of data from CD to hard disks as well as between CDs.

The DiscKeeper addresses the problem of existing copy protection systems, viz the possibility of introducing a generic patch for a particular technology, thus compromising the security of every CD using that technology, according to a press release.

DiscKeeper does not rely on verifications, but prevents copying from the CD itself. A verification procedure is also embedded inside the program as a secondary defenceWhen a user tries to copy the protected CD, the copying procedure will end abruptly, the release states.
