SACHIN Tendulkar's double century at the Sydney Test not only gave a boost to the Indian team, but also to the viewership ratings of Star Sports which airs the ongoing India-Australia series.

According to TAM Media Research, which covered males, over 15 years of age, belonging to SEC ABC, in cable and satellite homes, Star Sports' ratings averaged 5.4 television ration points (TRPs), reaching a maximum of 8.3 TRPs at an all-India level for the day. For the first two days of fourth Test, the average rating was 4.7 TRPs. This is much higher then any other Test in the past.

Mr R.C. Venkateish, Managing Director, ESPN Software India Pvt Ltd said, "This has been one of the most hard fought Test cricket series in recent times. We are proud to say that as the exclusive broadcaster of the series, we added tremendous value to sustain viewer interest throughout the series."

The series has enabled the channel to add several new advertisers such as Pidilite, Shaw Wallace, ICICI Prudential, Goodlass Nerolac, Heinz and Medimix. Also innovations like the `Samsung Match Up Zone' and `Gillette Push Clean Fact' and the `Shaz and Waz' show have been well appreciated by viewers.
