Stir for Indal reopening

Our Bureau

KOCHI: Various trade unions at aluminium plant Indal have said they will continue their protests until the company's smelter is reopened and becomes functional once again. The decision was taken under the banner of the Save Indal Prakshobha Samithy, an umbrella organisation of all the trade unions.

In a communication, the organisation has demanded that the management reopen the unit following a directive from the Kerala State Electricity Regulatory Commission to the KSEB to allow Indal to access power from the Power Trading Corporation. In view of this directive, the organisation has called off its January 21 protest march.
