Health Corporate - Trends Have your diet delivered at your office! Ajita Shashidhar
Chennai , Jan. 18 HOW about getting some sumptuous health food delivered at your office, instead of biting into a greasy patty or a samosa in your office cafeteria? The Apollo Health and Diet Clinic (the dietary and nutrition advisory division of Apollo Hospitals) is shortly launching a corporate meal plan, by which it will tie up with corporates to take care of the nutritional requirements of the employees. Nutritionists at the Apollo Health and Diet Clinic would prescribe a meal plan for each employee based on their nutritional requirements, cater and deliver the meals at their respective offices.Speaking to Business Line, Ms Jyotsna Radja, Consultant Nutritionist, Apollo Health and Diet Clinic, said the corporate meal would include lunch, a teatime snack and a beverage. "Apart from offering a healthy diet, we are also trying to make the food delicious and interesting. There is also going to be variety, as we are going to offer different kinds of cuisine each day such as South Indian, North Indian, Thai, Chinese and Continental." Ms Radja said all the meals would be cooked in olive oil and the teatime snack, for instance, would typically consist of a dal patty, a brown bread sandwich or even an utappam made from brown rice. "The meal plan would be tailor-made to each individual's health needs. There will be special meals for diabetics and people with cardiovascular problems." She said each plan would be medically supervised and designed in consultation with a cardiologist or a diabetologist. The corporate meal plan would also include the services of a fitness expert who would prescribe simple exercises, which could be done during working hours. The package, which will be priced at Rs 5,500 per person per month, will be initially rolled out in Chennai and then launched in the other metros. The launch will also be supported by a print and outdoor ad campaign. Apart from the corporate meal plan, Apollo Health and Diet Clinic is also planning to re-launch its Weight Plus Programme. This programme, which had initially been targeted at a select group of CEOs and heads of companies, met with great success, according to Ms Radja. "Under this programme, we delivered the entire day's meal at the client's residence and also got our physical trainer to visit them six days a week. Our clients not only lost weight after undergoing this programme, but we could also correct therapeutic disorders." The Weight Plus Programme is priced at Rs 25,000 per person.
