Coffee Day Takeaway to expand

COFFEE Day Takeaway, a division Amalgamated Bean Coffee Trading Company Ltd, has announced plans to expand its presence in the South by rapidly increasing the number of vending machine installations in the next three months.

The company expects to have a network of 10,000 in the southern States and Mumbai by the end of March this year from the present base of 6,500 installations. To further support this growth, it plans to introduce various consumer/retailer initiatives and also to enter into strategic tie-ups with other companies to dispense a variety of co-branded beverages.

Mr D. Sankaranarayanan, Senior General Manager, told reporters that the company also has plans to make its entry into the South East and West Asian markets shortly by setting up 50 outlets.

Referring to Kerala, he said the recent installation of a vending machine at Kochi had witnessed phenomenal response from the State resulting in 200 installations within the first three months itself.

The company is going in for a major expansion in the State and has been in the process of setting up 600 machines by the end of March. These machines will be installed in various tourist areas of Kozhikode, Thrissur, Kottayam, Thiruvananathapuram.

Mr Puttaraj A.G., General Manager, said that the filter coffee decoction is prepared exclusively at a specialised laboratory in Chikmaglur.
