Rubber weakens on poor buying

RUBBER rates surrendered on Wednesday. After a day's follow up buying, the covering groups and purchase agents withdrew from the market in the absence of enquiries from the company circles. All the grades except latex settled down amidst low trading interests.

RSS 4 closed at Rs 51.00 against Rs 51.50 a kg on Tuesday . In Bangkok, RSS 3 moved up to Rs 56.49 from Rs 56.38 a kg while the February features at TOCOM for RSS 3 moved down marginally to close at Rs 58.26 a kg against Rs 58.34 as on the previous day.

The rubber futures also turned weak on Wednesday.

The February delivery was quoted at Rs 51.88 (52.71), March delivery at Rs 55.00 ( 54.99), April delivery at Rs 57.40 (57.98), May delivery at Rs 59.25 (59.93) and June delivery at Rs 61.15 (61.82) per kg for RSS 4.
