UCO Bank Kottayam branch

KOTTAYAM: UCO Bank has opened its 1,075th branch in Kottayam. Mr K.M. Mathew, Chief Editor, Malayala Manorama, inaugurated the branch at a centrally located place in the town.

Mr V.P. Shetty, Chairman and Managing Director of the bank, presided over the function. Those who spoke on the occasion included Mr B. Gopakumar, Municipal Chairman, Mr Ajith Kumar, District Collector, Kottayam, and Mr K.R. Aravindakshan, President of the State Co-operative Bank.

UCO Bank at present has a global business worth Rs 54,067 crore, Mr Shetty said. The bank is aiming to enhance the business to Rs 1,00,000 crore by March 2007. Being one of the 100 fastest developing centres in the country according to the RBI, Kottayam was selected for the new branch, Mr Shetty said.
