Top-level appointments by Birla Sun Life

BIRLA Sun Life Insurance has announced various senior level appointments in the company.

"The opening up of the life insurance sector has thrown open as many challenges as there are opportunities and there is a strong need to build organisational capability to take care of the future," said a press release.

The company has appointed Mr Peter Akers as Chief Operating Officer. For the past three years, Mr Akers was the CFO and Appointed Actuary of Birla Sun Life. In his new role, he will focus on preparing the back office for the next phase of Birla Sun Life's expansion plans, said a press release. Mr Anil Jhalawho has been associated with the Aditya Birla group for 12 years, has been appointed Chief Financial Officer of the company.

Mr K.S. Gopalakrishnan, an Associate of Society of Actuaries (USA), has been appointed Actuary.
