States Vandalism in Anakapalle college Our Correspondent
The statues of Swami Vivekananda and Dr B.R Ambedkar were demolished in the Anakapalle Merchants' Association Lingamurthy College on Tuesday night. The statues of Jawaharlal Nehru, Indira Gandhi and Potti Sriramulu were defaced. A Hanuman idol in the college was also destroyed. The college students blocked the traffic for some time in the town and there was tension. The police brought the situation under control. For the past few months, there has been tension in the college following dismissal of some employees and there is a case pending against the principal over an alleged atrocity on a Dalit student.
