Centre for simulators flagged off at BHEL research unit

A CENTRE of Excellence (CoE) for simulators set up with an investment of Rs 3.8 crore was been declared operational at the corporate R&D unit of BHEL by Mr Virendra Kumar, Director.

The centre would be utilised to improve plant dynamics, operational efficiencies of power and process plants, train personnel on control systems, etc.

BHEL has developed expertise in these areas. It has supplied training simulators to the Obra and Vijayawada thermal power stations, in addition to INS Shivaji, Lonavala.

It is executing the order for supply of a training simulator to Mysore Sugar Corporation for a captive power plant at Mandya.

Its latest offering is a performance analysis diagnosis and optimisation (PADO) package to optimise the performance of power plants.

PADO has been installed at NTPC, Simhadri in Andhra Pradesh, according to a release from BHEL R&D.
