LG Electronics to focus more on rural marketing

LG Electronics India Pvt Ltd will give an additional thrust to rural marketing with more focus on district level sales, Mr Girish V. Rao, Head Sales LG Electronics India Pvt Ltd said.

He said that there would be a small depot in each district to promote LG products. This step would help the company penetrate the interior market, he said.

The company, which recorded a turnover of Rs 4,500 crore in 2003 growing at a rate of 36 per cent with consumer electronics contributing 46 per cent, home appliance, added another 44 per cent and 10 per cent from IT. Mr Rao said that the company launched the GSM phones for the premium-end of the market last year. This month, the company will be launching a mid-segment mobile with colour display branded "Friend''.
