HDFC Bank opens branch in Coimbatore

THE second branch of HDFC Bank was inaugurated in Coimbatore recently, taking its branch network in the State to 18.

It's Regional Business Manager (Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu), Mr C. S. Gopinath, on the sidelines of opening up this branch told this correspondent that the introduction of newer branches was aimed at strengthening its network and presence in all major cities across the country.

The bank has a countrywide presence of 275 branches across 147 locations. It has over 750 ATMs apart from the ATM sharing tie-up with State Bank of India (SBI).

While briefing about the array of products that the bank offered, Mr Gopinath said the banks in general, were not craving for fixed deposits but were looking at low cost funds such as current account and savings bank account as profitable propositions.
