Awards & Honours Animation, gaming industry to be focus of FICCI-Frames Our Bureau
Mumbai , Jan. 28 ANIMATION and gaming industry will be some of the thrust areas of FICCI-Frames 2004, in a bid to boost these nascent industries, Dr Amit Mitra, Secretary General, FICCI, said. FICCI has also instituted an award - Best Animated FICCI Frames Award - to be given away during the three-day conference to be held in mid-March 2004. The announcement of this award is a step towards recognising and rewarding India's creative and promising talent, Dr Mitra said. "Animation has been the buzzword for sometime now and global giants are looking at Indian animation market space keenly. India is uniquely poise to leverage the visible spurt in demand for animation,'' Dr Mitra said. Mr Andy Bird, President, Walt Disney International, is one of the keynote speakers at the conference. Frames 2004 will focus on the various gamuts of entertainment industry including discussions on animation, broadcasting, cinema and funding of cinema, policy, gaming and marketing and distribution. One of the key highlights of Frames 2004 will be a special session on the current top ten investment destinations in the country. The Uttaranchal Government is one of the partners of the conference. As part of its efforts to provide networking and marketplace opportunities, there will be dedicated sessions to impart closer understanding of the Indian market, Dr Mitra said.
