MERCK Ltd has posted a net profit of Rs 19.65 crore for the fourth quarter ended December 31, 2003, as compared to a net profit of Rs 10.69 crore during the same period last year.

Total income has increased to Rs 96.08 crore from Rs 86.12 crore in the fourth quarter last year.The company has posted a net profit of Rs 39.63 crore for the year-ended December 31, 2003, as compared with Rs 39.98 crore in the financial year ended December 31, 2002.

Total income has increased to Rs 374.83 crore during the year-ended December 31, 2003 from Rs 355.75 crore clocked in 2002.

The company's board also recommended a payment of dividend at Rs 10 per equity share for the year-ended December 31, 2003, the company informed the BSE.
