Cummins India Chairman resigns

THE board of Cummins India Ltd today announced the resignation of Mr Ravi Venkatesan as Chairman of the company April 1, 2004.

Mr Venkatesan will also relinquish his position as Managing Director, Tata Cummins Ltd, and Country Head, Cummins India.

The board took on record the financial results for the quarter and nine months ended December 31, 2003.

The company recorded net sales of Rs 224.4 crore for the third quarter ended December 31, 2003, registering an increase of one per cent against Rs 222.1 crore for the corresponding quarter of the previous year.

Profit after taxes rose 10 per cent to touch Rs 26.9 crore as against Rs 24.5 crore .
