Financial Performance Corporate Results - Hardware HCL Info Q2 net at Rs 41 cr, to pay 50% interim Our Bureau
New Delhi , Jan. 28 HCL Infosystems, manufacturer of personal computers (PCs), on Wednesday said it posted a net profit of Rs 41.43 crore in its second quarter as compared with a loss of Rs 19 lakh in the same period a year ago as sales of its PCs and telecom gears grew. Net sales in the quarter ended December 31, 2003 stood at Rs 1,043 crore over Rs 625.46 crore in the same period last year, the company said in a statement here. Of this, computer systems and other related products accounted for Rs 374 crore as compared to Rs 240.1 crore in the same quarter last year, while the office automation and telecom business generated Rs 664.4 crore, over Rs 347.3 crore a year ago. Internet and related services made up for Rs 10.72 crore. The board of directors declared a second interim dividend of 50 per cent, or Rs five per share of Rs 10. In the first quarter, HCL Infosystems had declared an interim dividend of 30 per cent. For the six-month period, it made a net profit of Rs 73.8 crore on revenues of Rs 1,899 crore.
