Seminars on floriculture

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Two national seminars on `Floriculture' and `Role of fruits and vegetables in heath and nutrition' will be organised here on Saturday in connection with the ongoing Flower, Fruit and Vegetable Show 2004.

The Director, Agriculture, Dr K.R. Jyothilal, said here that the Agriculture Minister, Ms K.R. Gouri Amma, would inaugurate the first seminar at 9 a.m.

A group of floriculture experts and professionals drawn from all parts of the country will participate in the seminar. The Speaker of the Assembly, Mr Vakkom Purushothaman, will inaugurate the second seminar at 1.30 p.m. It will be presided over by Mr K. Ramamoorthy, Secretary, Health. Prof Indira Chakravarty, Director, Professor and Head, All Institute of Hygiene and Public Health, will coordinate the session.
