Tekelec sees good potential in India

New Delhi , Feb. 4

HAVING deployed its switching and signalling systems for 160 operators across 30 countries, the US-based Tekelec Inc is now eyeing the Indian market. it has already tied up with Bharti TeleVentures Ltd, Reliance Infocomm and Tata Teleservices to optimise their telecom network performance

According to Mr Frederick M. Lax, President and CEO, Tekelec, the company which is a leading developer of telecommunication switching and signalling products for fixed, mobile and next-generation networks, is also in talks with Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd and hopes to initiate talks with various other telecom operators

"We have moved another step ahead in our major global expansion initiative with the establishment of direct operations in India. India provides significant opportunities in both the fixed and mobile telecom segments," he told Business Line.
