Global green building body Vice-Chairman

THE Chairman of the Indian Green Building Council, Mr R. Parasuraman, has been nominated the Vice-Chairman of the World Green Building Council at the US Green Building Annual Conference at Pittsburgh, USA.

He will oversee and encourage green buildings worldwide, particularly in Asia and India. The council promotes environment-friendly buildings that focus on air, water and energy conservation and management, and create an ideal ambience to increase productivity, according to a press release from the CII. The council also sets standards for rating such buildings. Its measurement parameters are becoming standards used by various authorities to develop building codes.
