Events Compass 2004 sees Rs 100-cr deals Our Bureau
Kolkata , Feb. 6 ORGANISERS of Compass 2004, the annual IT fair of Computer Association of Eastern India, are expecting business worth around Rs 100 crore from this year's event. According to Mr V.K. Bhandari, President of association, ``it is difficult to spell out an accurate figure on the amount of business generated from this fair as direct selling is not allowed to the participants.'' "They only get leads which is being followed later on. It is also given vital clues for future business. However, as per the information submitted by the participants we work out an approximate figure," Mr Bhandari told reporters at a press conference. Last year, he said, Compass 2003 generated business worth Rs 60 crore. This year's event will be held from February 13-17. More than 125 companies are expected to participate in this meet. According to Mr Bhandari, West Bengal Government's IT Department is supporting the meet.
