e-Seva: Bar on cash payments above Rs 5,000

HYDERABAD: With a view to avoiding delays in counting cash at the counters, e-Seva authorities have decided to put a bar on cash payments at Rs 5,000.

"Beginning February, cash transactions beyond Rs 5,000 should be through cheque, demand draft or credit cards," e-Seva said here in a press release. "This is to avoid delays in counting and facilitate quick delivery bills," it added.
