Satyam opens development centre in Canada

Hyderabad , Feb. 9

SATYAM Computer has announced that it has opened its first Satyam Canada Development Centre (SCDC) in Mississauga, Ontario.

The SCDC will serve as a near-shore centre to support its US clients. Ms Hazel McCallion, Mayor of Mississauga, and Ms Peggy Mulligan, Executive Vice-President of Scotia Bank, inaugurated the new centre.

Mr Ram Mynampati, President, Satyam, in a statement said: "with the opening of our new Canada development centre, Satyam now has 18 development centres globally, and is well positioned to achieve our goal of servicing both the local and global markets."

The Country Manager for Satyam in Canada, Mr Sanjay Tugnait, said: the centre would primarily used for software development.

It is provided with hi-tech computing equipment and secure high-speed connectivity to client hosts as well as other development centres in the US and India.
