Coimbatore , Feb. 9

BANK employees agitation programme, which is to culminate in a one-day countrywide strike on February 24 (to protest against the Government's anti-labour policies and oppose the Supreme Court's verdict on the right to strike), begins tomorrow.

The United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU) has called upon the bank employees to launch demonstrations in front of all branches and head offices on February 10.

According to the General Secretary of the State Bank of India Officers' Association (Chennai Circle), Mr K. Parthasarathy, the strike call by the UFBU would focus on an early conclusion of wage revision and a second option on pension, among others.
